"they are just dislocated foreigners" Exactly. That's the case with most immigrants. They have no intention of ever becoming British and really could not care less about this country - viewing it as simply a source of an easy life.

@civildiscourse7626 I agree - St Patricks day is pretty dumb for everyone except Irish people in Ireland. But at least it generally manages to avoid turning into an open-air drugs market, an orgy of looting, or a mass brawl between gangs with machetes. If people are going to go around bragging about how they are celebrating their heritage from another part of the planet - I have every right to regard myself as more authentically British than them.

Why should we be "celebrating Caribbean culture" anyway? It's not our culture. The mere existence of it is proof that immigrants are not integrating generation after generation. Not to mention the endless stench of weed is revolting.
