  4. I think to a great extent we are - the Tories copied Blair's model of using more and more borrowing and more and more immigration to try to plaster over long standing problems. We are now running up against the consequences of both.

  6. "Work or starve" is an emotive way of putting it - but I have never seen a good reason to claim we need huge amounts of immigrant labour while we're paying millions of fit and healthy British adults not to work.
