Labour started all the trends that are now tormenting us. They rode the wave of the global economic boom until 2008, but almost every decision they took was a disaster.

@oliverbrooks1348 You're missing the point - Labour started all these problems that are now out of control. All that's happened is those problems are now in a more metastasized state than they were in 2000. Saying "things were better under Labour" is like a dying smoker saying "thing were better back when I'd only smoked for a few months".

@oliverbrooks1348 Yeah - the patient didn't have lung cancer back when he started smoking. Your point? Oh and you need to look up something called "compound interest". You seem to think it's some sort of triumph that the national debt was smaller 12 years ago than it is now. Guess what - it was a lot smaller before Brown went on his massive borrow and spend orgy. (And dumped our gold reserves at the all-time market low of course).
