  1. TBH the current government are already doing that in all but name - "clearing the backlog" was a euphemism for "just let everyone stay".

  2. The small boats thing is a bit of a distraction from the 1.2 million coming every year legally. None of our "mainstream" politicians have the slightest intention of doing anything about immigration.
