"The country is going to pieces" Yes. And I keep banging on about this - but it's the result of 20 million immigrants in 25 years. A tiny island cannot possibly absorb such a flood. It's wrecked any sense of common identity and community, and it's put our infrastructure, public services and finances under an impossible burden that it simply can't cope with. Houses used to be affordable. A not very long time ago. London used to be an English city a not very long time ago. And doctors receptions didn't treat you like the enemy not a very long time ago.

Yup - excessive immigration is behind so many problems.

@wundurra24 If you can't find workers when there's several million unemployed and 1.1 million immigrants a year - you're not trying.

@wundurra24 Clearly they're not - I am just correcting your false statement that there is a shortage of labour. There is a huge surplus of labour in this country, and the surplus gets bigger every year.

@wundurra24 No the half million plus figure is net migration, which subtracts emigration (a classic sign of despair). 1.1 million is total *immigration*. Please check your facts before speaking about subjects you don't know anything about. It saves time.

@wundurra24 I said there were 1.1 million immigrants a year - you said that was inaccurate, and I corrected you. There are also around 1.2 million UK adults registered as unemployed (an underestimate due to the inflation of the disability figure and other sharp practice). We can keep doing this if you like, but I know what the numbers are. You know - until 1997, businesses somehow managed to find sufficient workers with annual net immigration at a few tens of thousands. Why do you think they suddenly "can't find workers" with over half a million a year on top of several million we've had just in the last decade? Are they grinding these "workers" up for Soylent green?
