After the abuse they gave me for saying marriage was a man and a woman - I'd be completely OK with them getting some agro for "discriminating" in the same way I wanted to "discriminate".

They forced marriage to be opened to all combinations, and were very unpleasant about those of us who wanted to keep it as what it had been since the bronze age. I don't think they should be allowed to "discriminate" in the same way they said we weren't allowed to "discriminate".

@Redlingstein "Love is love", "we won't tolerate discrimination", "say no to hate", love wins" etc etc. Remember all that? None of it has to make sense - just be easy to chant monotonously. And I think it's hysterical it's boomeranging back into the faces of the people who were so foul to me for pointing out where this was heading 20 years ago.

@Redlingstein The state could give a marriage license to a gerbil and a brick, and legally it would be valid. Politicians pass a lot of weird laws.

@cheesepuff65 1. So you're admitting it wasn't necessary at all to change the definition of marriage for these people to have relations then? 2. Every human culture in every part of the world until five minutes ago pushed homosexuality to the fringes of society. That represents a well-spring of accumulated collective wisdom that should not be ignored.

@cheesepuff65 You should try reading Greek comedy - such things were regarded as foppish indulgences of the spoilt upper classes, and joked about as such. Oh and the Romans were very conservative in their sexual morality - that was why there was such a disapproving tone taken to the emperors who didn't follow it.

@cheesepuff65 No one has ever disputed that sodomy sometimes happens in all male environments. You have yet to explain how that is relevant to the discussion.
