Why would you pay British citizen to do anything when you can just endlessly import cheaper foreign workers? We've had this low-productivity, low-pay, low-skill, very high immigration economic model for 25 years now: and not surprisingly Britain has stagnated as a country.

Too much immigration is at the route of an awful lot of our problems. It's depressed wages for decades, skyrocketed the price of housing, overloaded public services, created huge numbers of extra welfare recipients, produced a huge array of conflicts, and deeply eroded the sense of trust and common cause that are vital to a healthy society. Brexit could probably have been avoided if the liberal elites had not forced open borders on a country that simply didn't want it.

There was no way for the government to do anything to protect manufacturing with EU rules in place. Any assistance or protection would have been ruled illegal. A fact that I doubt the Europhiles on this channel want to hear.

@johnbarrett915 You have to be incredibly ignorant and/or privileged to not understand the huge problems that unlimited, non-selective immigration brings. Had your sort of person not been so contemptuous of ordinary people and their problems: the UK would probably have stayed in your wretched European Union that you care about so much more than you care about actual Europeans.
