Every candidate gets to make a speech if they want to. I despair how ignorant the typical voter in this country is.

This country is F'd beyond the ability of words to express. After 27 years of unbroken misrule, things are about to get much much worse.

@Zestit497 I could never be in politics because I say frankly what the real problems are - and no one wants to hear that. They want to hear empty feel-good fluff that means nothing.

@birchual-reality Meh. I've spent my whole life warning people about consequences, being ignored, and then being proved right. This is just another of those days. My expectations of the British people are now so low I can barely even summon up the energy to shake my head and sigh.

@Squire86 Thanks for perfectly proving my point - to you this is all just a panel game on TV where it's all about insulting individuals. If anyone tried to explain actual problems and discuss actual solutions with you: you'd pull a face and mock them. And since people like you are such a large part of the electorate - everything keeps getting worse and politics keeps getting shallower and shallower. Now go on - ignore everything I said and throw some childish insult at me. That's all you can manage isn't it?

@Squire86 "I am a socialist at heart" That's another way of saying you know literally nothing about history, economics or human nature. Which is presumably why your post consisted entirely of vague, cliched whining and crying with ZERO actual analysis, introspection, or even any specifics. This is why you are so deeply impressed by playground insults - you simply don't understand anything else. And sadly you represent at least 1/3 of the voters.

I bet you think "austerity" actually happened don't you? Everyone who spews out these cliched whinges does. But hey - at least I got insulted in the comments section. And I notice you failed to answer my question about when exactly austerity happened - because it never did. Again, it's just something you heard others say, and you repeated it while calling people like me names for daring to actually know what we were talking about. "what policies do you recommend" In the unlikely event you actually mean this - you could start with the Youtube series "WhatIfAltHist", which does a very good job of laying out the macro problems that need to be addressed.

I wish you people you could hear yourselves through the ears of an intelligent person so you know how laughable you sound. "You have not clarified any of your ideas" I gave you a specific source to consult, a very easily accessed and digestible source - you still decided you couldn't be bothered. I've learned in my life that most people prefer to stay ignorant than admit they were wrong.
