There's not much to feel hopeful about in the grim darkness of the 21st century - but the fact that trust in media has collapsed through the floor since the millennium, provides one tiny little ray of sunshine. I say that as someone who used to watch BBC news every night, and now gets all my news from independent outlets.

One moment that made a real impression on me was the Fort Hood shooting - the BBC were gleefully doing their usual shtick about "white supremacists with their assault rifles", clearly settling in to party with this story all day. Then it came out the shooter was in fact. . . . . .Muslim. And I swear I could hear the "CLICK" as the tone the two anchors were using did a 180 turn, and they started speedily winding down their coverage of the incident.

  3. It's something you're taught to always consider as a history student - "What motives and biases does this source have?" Yet strangely, if you apply the same scrutiny to current "news", you're mocked as a "crazy conspiracy theorist".

  4. Tucker is good because he actually identifies not just what is being done but *why*. He dispenses with the fiction that the people in power are doing anything "for our own good".

  5. Yeah - I'd been getting more and more sceptical about the MSM before that, but think that year was when I finally realized the whole thing was a psy-ops campaign with no relation to truth whatsoever.
