It's not "a lack of self-awareness", it's them straight-up telling you who they are, what they do, and that you'd better be afraid. They know exactly what message they are sending.

Indeed. 20 years ago I was trying to tell people where this ship was headed, and got called all kinds of names for it. An apology would be good, but I know I'll never get one.

@Argent Wolf "none of us saw it coming" LOTS of us saw it coming kiddo, religious and secular - you just weren't one of them. When we tried to tell you, you parroted the clichés the news told you to parrot about how we were "fear-mongering bigots" and that none of what we were saying would ever happen. Just because YOU were short-sighted and vapid, don't try and claim everyone was.

It is 100% about power. That's why they are being so obnoxious and aggressive - they want you to not able to escape, to be forced to participate, and to be forced to sit in silence for fear of reprisals.

You have to hand it to the alphabet lobby - they have established total dominance over two entire continents in a single generation. Has any group ever risen to such giddy heights of power and privilege over such a vast area in so short a time?

@Argent Wolf In the first place - I'm not religious. You just made that up. In the second - the fact that you were too too short-sighted, too prejudiced and too easily swayed by emotional manipulation to heed the warnings you were being given: is entirely YOUR fault. I spent years taking shit from people like you because I had the courage to say what was unfashionable, but true. And you do NOT get to tell me it's somehow my fault that you preferred the easy route of going along with the herd. Try being an adult and owning up to your failings instead of trying to blame someone else.
