Yeah - men once could give themselves courage with the line - "the worst that can happen is she says no". Well: now the worst that can happen is - "she will literally destroy everything you've ever accomplished and make you an outcast for the rest of your life".

I've noticed women tend to have very blasé attitude to rejection - "Man up" and "we don't owe you politeness" etc. It would be very helpful for society in general if all women had this experience of what it's actually like to suffer rejection. Over, and over, and over, and over. Frequently done in ways that are harsh and sometimes that are downright cruel. Then of course there's the fast growing threat of legal consequences if you do it in some way she doesn't like.

Yeah - dating apps have given all women the impression they now have access to the top 1% of men. 30 years ago they might have settled for decent Joe who was a decent guy, looked decent, and made a decent wage. Now - they think they're "not going to settle" for him, because they "know their worth". And it turns out most of them greatly over-estimate their value.

@reanschwarzer2187 "it’s just gonna take a few years for the pendulum to swing back" Unfortunately we only have one life - and that time that it takes for dating to be royally fucked up and then for the "pendulum" to swing back - is going to be as long as many of us are around and in our dating years.
