Better to start fixing it than never start fixing it

An identical argument was made in the 1850s regarding who would pick the cotton. . . . . . . .
25
@AshkanPacino13 Because it stops the constant undercutting of wages and spiralling cost of housing.
24
That's odd - I grew up in the 1980s and 90s when immigration was a fraction of what it is today: and somehow, there was food. . . . . . . .
17
@tuckerhiggins4336 Almost as if if you don't crush the value of labour with infinite immigrants - wages rise and unemployment falls. Funny that.
16
@RisottoNero-z1w How come France and Germany are also in the muck? Did they do Brexit too?
14
Yeah - because you couldn't. . . . . . .allow wages to rise and unemployment to fall. That would be crazy!
11
@knightsnight5929 The richest 0.1% are booming - everyone else is seeing their standard of living get crushed.

Mass immigration makes population decline worse by making it harder to form new families - you can see this in Britain where the young people can't settle down because no one can afford a house or get decent wages due to staggering immigration levels.
4
Maybe if you stop crushing wages to the point where only single men from the poorest countries will work for them. . . . .
3
@jaredkronk4614 Thanks for admitting the objective of immigration is to undermine the wages of existing workers.
3
@DavySolaris If you can't figure out that a massive increase in labour supply drives down wags - you're just not very bright.
2
@meganegan5992 The people who built a country - get to call it their homeland. In America, that is white Europeans.
2
The only people who benefit from mass-immigration are the already rich who want near-slave labour.
2
@Heatherder Ask China how the one child policy worked out for them.
1
@Heatherder Ask China about their one child policy. It's not going well.
1
@RisottoNero-z1w They've all got the same problems - too much government, too high taxes, too much immigration, too few babies, too much red tape. But yeah, the Germans dumping nuclear power was incredibly foolish.
1
@AshkanPacino13 It stops the undermining of labour, inflation of house prices and rising crime associated with open borders. The only people who want mass-immigration are the already wealthy who like undercutting the wages of the existing workforce.

"If we free the slaves - who will pick the cotton?"
1
@saasda6255 No it didn't - servants in 17th century British manor houses used to be "tipped" by wealthy guests at the end of the evening. Just because it's academically fashionable to think everything should be seen through an ethno-Marxist prism - doesn't mean it's true.

Illegal. Not "undocumented". Just as we have "drug dealers", not "undocumented pharmacists"
