The reason our ancestors up to the latter half of the 20th century were so "racist" - was because they had experienced other cultures through the institutions of trade and empire: and they knew directly what those cultures were like. Their feckless descendants, could kid themselves that everyone was the same because they didn't interact with them. Now were are being forced to interact with them because they are in our country in vast numbers - and the credibility of liberalism is nose-diving.
