Those arrested for the minor infraction of trespass on January 6th have been held for two years without trial. "Lack of lawyers" isn't the problem - perverse priorities is.

You hardly need to be attacked - you just need to spend one night in a hotel full of people screaming, banging, fighting and shitting in the corridors. LA just did a controlled demolition of whatever is left of their tourism industry.
14
All carefully planned and engineered.

It's hard for me to over-state just how little sympathy I have. So many of us tried to warn them two years ago what this would lead to - and they responded by trying, and in many cases successfully getting us "cancelled".
7
And this is before the Purge law goes into effect.
5
It's the same here in Europe - the influx is almost exclusively military age males.
4
Zero sympathy - let them live the consequences of their choices.
3
"We've got a lot of businesses coming in here" Like funeral directors?
3
I don't really care if they admire evil merely because evil so closely aligns with liberal values, or if they think Satan is an actual entity - it's a bad idea to associate with people who think evil is a good thing.
3
One ex Los Angeles resident commented that he left because - "People here care more about transgender bathroom policy in Georgia than they do about their own streets being covered in excrement and drug needles". It seems the phenomenon is not confined to LA.
3
That's an awful lot of words for - "Trump was right"
3
It's Antifa. It's Portland. No one is getting prosecuted.
2
Every single slippery slope argument that's been made in my lifetime has come true.
2
@kampar82 "So now we start picking and choosing which parts of the constitution are valid?" When liberals stop claiming that gay marriage and abortion are in the constitution, but free speech and a right to bear arms are not - maybe that argument will have some validity.
2
@kampar82 "I haven't seen marriage mentioned in the constitution" Exactly. "I live in a country where sexuality is normal" So do I. You can tell by the rampant VD.
2
@kendigjl Yeah - American society has really thrived since it purged Christianity hasn't it?
2
"Guns don't protect you" - People surrounded by men with guns.
2
Not a single pregnant woman has had a gun shoved in her stomach by St Floyd for a long time now.
2
"When those stores don’t reopen they will call it The dreaded “R” word" Yup - the media already does this when it talks about "food deserts". They never investigate why there used to be stores in these areas but there aren't any more.
2
I seem to remember they were absolutely adamant that they wanted NO federal presence in Portland a couple of years ago. Mayor Wheeler even went to rile up the rioters and encourage them to continue assaulting the courthouse didn't he?
2
Every negative from ordinary people's POV - is a positive from the politician's POV.
2
. . . . . . .and in ten years they'll be scratching their heads and wondering why their state is falling down the league tables for maths and science.
1
Hmmmm - I wonder if those locked up for "mental health issues" will wind up being people with "wrong opinions". . . . . . . .
1
Wow - you're going to destroy what's left of your tourist industry AND create a massive bonanza of corruption at the same time. Wonder how much of a kick-back Karen Bass is getting for this?
1
It starts with asking, then it moves to social pressure, then economic pressure, then outright compulsion. There is no level of devastation they will not cheerfully inflict to get their replacement voters in.
1
Everything they call "Disinformation", they admit is true 18 months later and expect us to then simply forget about it.
1
@kendigjl Enjoy your rampant homelessness, social collapse, several million abortions and 100,000 over-dose deaths a year then. Madness is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome.
1
Enjoying the consequences of your votes liberals?
1
Keep sending them - those who created the immigration crisis should take the weight of it.
1
The sheer nerve of the tech industry to do everything in their power for decades to promote woke politics - and then move to a Red state for the lower taxes and safer streets.
1
And their governor told anyone who didn't like it to leave.
1
Gonna be boom-times for the undocumented pharmacists.
1
Liberalism has become a cult. It literally doesn't matter how bad things get, they will never change how they vote.
1
I bet you don't get "follow-home" robberies in states with constitutional carry and stand your ground laws.
1
The drug addicts (we all know "homeless" is a euphemism) are going to utterly destroy any hotel they get put into: so within a few months hotels that want to actually be hotels will have closed down - and those that just want to milk the taxpayer will charge the city top-dollar for festering flea-pits.
1
"There was enough of the drug reaching the state in 2022 to kill every man, woman and child in North America -- twice." Gee: it's almost as if someone is trying do Americans harm! But obviously that's ridiculous, if that were happening, the Biden regime would restore border control and punish the nation responsible. Right?
1
This is what happens when you let liberals run your education system: your children will quite literally end up worshipping evil.
1
Liberals will only ever double-down on failure. They will never learn.
1
It's a very good idea when you're getting a generous kickback from all the public money you're spending to "manage" the problem. "Homeless industrial complex".
1
"It says it's city property. But I'm taking it over" When a society allows that to happen - law and order has *gone*.
1
It's all about re place ment.
1
Wow. I seem to recall just a couple of years ago you were "literally a murderer" if you didn't wear a mask.
1
But Antifa is "Just an idea" right? How can an "idea" commit a criminal act, and have a Twitter account?
1
Ever since the "mostly peaceful protests", people have got the message that nothing will be done about looting. Liberals even encourage it by calling it "reparations". I don't see how this changes unless there are consequences for doing it again, but it takes decades to turn a whole culture around.
1
It's the Biden regime keeping the front door open and letting the drug market flourish. Criminal are always gonna criminal - but they're getting official support ATM.
1
The great re place ment proceeds exactly according to plan.
1
A big part of my pessimism about the future is that humans in general, and liberals in particular, simply don't learn from experience. They'll keep doing the same stupid thing over and over until it kills them, their city, their country, their whole freakin civilisation.
1
The fact that Wheeler still has a job after actively encouraging riots and looting in his own city - gives me no sympathy whatever that godforsaken city.
1
Handy for those who want facial recognition technology to track and control us isn't it? Make crime so rampant you give yourself an excuse to ban face-coverings.
1
Now watch them "Vote blue, no matter who", all over again.
