  1. My view is "trust the experts" is an outlook that has been absolutely destroyed in the last few years. We've been ordered to believe so many things that are either self--evidently absurd or which have been subsequently proved to be false - that people are a lot more willing to question what they're told by authority now. Which has its downsides, but overall I think it's a development to be welcomed.
