Zelenski doesn't want peace because it would mean losing his monopoly on power. NATO don't want peace because they want to see Russia utterly broken. The Biden regime don't want peace because they're using the war to launder money. Putin probably would like peace, but not a peace with the humiliation the west wants to inflict on Russia. So, wretchedly, I can't see this ending any time soon. And I really hope I'm wrong.

I know - apparently I'm a "Russian bot" for pointing out this war has absolutely nothing to do with us and it's all corrupt as hell. People don't like truth.

@eliseomartinez7911 Are you on the front lines? Easy to call others cowards from behind a screen.

@georgewashington7083 Look up the FTX scandal. Biden gives money to Ukraine, Ukraine "invests" in FTX, FTX donates to the DNC. As Deep Throat advised - simply follow the money.

@senya1696 Ironic isn't it? But I don't see any good reason for the killing to continue just to spite one guy. Do you?

@dark7element Well yes obviously, any nation would find such a retreat humiliating. Look at how humiliating Nato's defeat in Afghanistan was. Of course there are also large numbers of Russian speakers in those regions who want to be part of Russia. And the west engineered a coup to remove a pro-Russian leader in a country on Russia's doorstep - something any major power would be alarmed by. And Nato have broken assurances given at the end of the cold war that they would not expand eastwards. There's always two sides to a story.

@dark7element "Russia is not an advanced economy" Oh well - if Russia's so backward, we don't need to spend a gazillion dollars of military intervention to contain it do we? You can't have it both ways. Either they're a threat or their not. "There's no reason why it needs to have a "sphere of influence" That's a view that shows a stunning ignorance of Russia's history and geography. But in any case good luck telling a major country it's not entitled to interfere in the affairs of it's neighbours. Because ALL of them do. "Afghanistan was a defeat, but not a military defeat." That's just delusional. When you've been at war for 20 years and at the end of it the other side is in control of the territory you were fighting over - you've been defeated. "I'll assume you give the same regard to Chechens" Why is it our concern? I don't notice us fighting China over their annexation of Tibet, or Azerbaijan over seizing a chunk of Armenia. Stop kidding yourself there's any kind of principle involved here.

@dark7element "We let them win" - is the most pathetic piece of cope I've ever heard. "the Russians to get their pathetic, unwarranted pride beaten out of them" You have a very child-like understanding of national psychology. Not to mention America has been far more aggressive than Russia in the last 20 years.

@dark7element OK - you live in your fantasy world where NATO won the Afghan war, and invading Iraq was different from invading Ukraine because "MURICA!" If your vision of the future is a boot stamping on a Russian face forever - don't be surprised if the Russians don't want to go along with it. You may believe they deserve to be a subjected nation, but they're not going to go along with it. By the way - next time America decides to expand it's empire (your word not mine) - don't be surprised when the insurgents you're fighting are lavishly equipped with Russian weapons.

@dark7element "America's national values are good, and Russia's are shit" Yeah - we're all really grateful to America for bringing us banking cartels, sub-prime mortgages, narcissist materialism, cancel-culture, critical race theory and men in skirts snarling that we must respect their pronouns. Maybe once America had good values, but not anymore.
