One of things I discovered when I started making a serious effort to slim-down, was that when you are obese, you can lose a lot of weight, quite quickly, by making some relatively small changes to your lifestyle. I just reduced confectionary and carb intake, and I lost several kilos in just a couple of months without even counting my calories or exercising. (Which I started doing later). The more weight you have, the easier it is to lose it.

  3. If I might correct without disagreeing with your main point - "Phobia" actually means an excessive or irrational fear: hence why the word is nearly always used incorrectly today. You are right that we should fear obesity, but such a fear is not irrational or excessive in anyone but maybe anorexics. Sorry. I'll go now.
