  2. The Israelis have made several very generous offers to the Palestinians for statehood - and they were all rejected because it would have meant accepting Israel's existence. After what happened last Autumn, I can't see Israel being in the mood to make a generous offer any time soon. Nor would such an offer be accepted if it were.
