  2. The Palestinians have made it crystal clear for decades they don't want peace - they want to wipe out Israel. That's left Israel with little choice but to take a hard line with them.

  3. On every occasion they've been offered their own state - they turned it down because it would mean accepting the continued existence of Israel. You can't negotiate with people whose minimum demand is - "You all have to die".
