I really love how this channel isn't obsessed with "cool" businesses - and covers such a broad range of enterprises big and small.

"The industry has become a target for private equity" Ahhhhhh that's why it's getting both worse and more expensive.

This was not an industry I was expecting to see get a detailed discussion on this channel. I am totally down for it.

This is really the most old-school kind of business imaginable - a stall where the skill-set is simply knowing your product and knowing the market. You can imagine an almost identical kind of business operating in ancient Babylon dealing in furs or jewellery.

There's a reason every moral and ethical code ever created by mankind has frowned on gambling.

@socksss "There's gambling with friends" Tell your "friends" that you lost the rent money and ask them to forgive the debt. See if they stay your friend. . . . . . .

Ah the old "Traditional business pretends to be a tech company" dodge. Best done with a long-haired and scruffily dressed executive who says things like "Elevate humanity" and "vision for society" a lot. (Yes I'm looking at you We Work).

Yeah - it does look like a hell of lot of pure carbs to start your day with. I'm British and our traditional fry-ups are certainly high-calorie, but at least there's quite a lot of protein in there.

It's also a business where scale is a big advantage due to the importance of having a trusted brand that people are confident isn't going to rip them off.

@blue-hawaii-mc4vf "You can pull blackjack from my cold dead hands" Definitely not the words of an addict. . . . . . . .
12
Ironic that short menus was how fast food built itself in the first place - now their menus are more bloated than sit down restaurants.

@gyaanik You suffer for your art - I respect that.

I'm intrigued - what is the process of becoming a fire dancer? And does it involve a lot of minor burns while you learn?

I honestly don't see why a holiday on a boat is any more extravagant than a holiday at a resort TBH. The ships are probably doing less damage to natural habitat if anything.

If there's one universal truth in this crazy world - it's that journalists for big liberal media are scum
2
It speaks to the insane economic conditions of the last 15 years that companies that have never made a profit, feel entitled to demand a billion dollar price-tag. And then get offered 90% of that.
2
@gwenzhead566 Your question is based on a false premise. If you're gambling with them (for money) they're not your friends. Like I said - tell them you can't pay. See if they stay your friend. . . . . .
2
It's crazy that saying a bad word, has far worse consequences for your business than the opioid scandal (which killed tens of thousands) had for big pharma.
2
But then you remembered they went bankrupt. . . . . . .

The sad reality is there are plenty of PHD's out there who have fewer morals than Only Fans thots. They will say and do literally anything for a cheque or a promotion.

The vast majority of people who try going vegan end up going back to eating meat - I think it's in the vicinity of 85%. It's just a deeply unsatisfying and nutritionally deficient diet that leaves most people feeling chronically unwell after a couple of years.

Exactly - continuous ongoing fees is a huge negative in my decision about whether to buy or not.

@gwenzhead566 OK kid - gamble. How your life turns out isn't my problem.

I just find fizzy carbonated drinks quite unpleasant, so for me, it's plain old water.
1
"the sparkling water market already is saturated" I see what you did there. . . . . . .

@thestanleys3235 Plus B&J constantly sets out to annoy me with political messaging - so they can happily go down the drain.
