Defunding the police sure hasn't helped, but it's not the big problem - the main issue is the de-facto legalization of vast categories of formerly criminal activity, and the absolute refusal of woke prosecutors to prosecute. That's what's caused the massive downward spiral in these cities - the cops are still there, but they often don't even bother arresting people because they know they'll be back on the streets within an hour: no bail, no charges, no consequences. It's just not worth the physical risk of apprehending them.

  3. If someone else had been killed - she would probably have been Tweeting about "don't let the fascists tell you crime is an issue" and "abolish bail" and "BLM" and all the rest of it. I won't debase myself by celebrating - but I won't pretend I feel bad.
