This is what irks me about the "I demand a share of the profits" crowd - they never want to put in their own money to get something set up and do the gruelling hard work of getting it to the point where there are profits. The reason equity was created was to allow you to buy into a piece of a business - but you have to risk your money by lending that business the capital to start up.

  5. Remember this is Portland, there's an implicit threat of violence behind that demand. And they know the police won't do anything. Their only option was to close before they were looted and vandalized. Of course, they fed the woke monster, so they deserve zero sympathy, but you can't stand up to extortion if the whole society around you supports the extortion.
