@lukabosanac2671 Actually we've had capitalism for centuries - we've had a housing crisis since interventionist big-governments provided the financial industry with infinite amounts of printed money at zero interest rates for nearly 20 years: and also allowed open borders that spiralled the price of housing stock.

China has more government control over their economy than almost any society on earth, and it's been steadily increasing over the past couple of decades: the massive bloat in "infrastructure" spending that's created so many ghost cities, being a prime example. You don't seem to be in much of a position to sneer at someone else's knowledge of the place.

We used to have a thing called "sound money" based on metals: then "smart" people in government realized they had more power when money was debt-based.

@imnotusingmyrealname4566 Firstly - many can, there's lots of wealthy people from Russia, China, India etc buying up property . Secondly - they don't need to. Landlords can make a lot of money by turning family homes into squats for a dozen guys.

No actually - the National Socialist German Workers Party espoused the idea of society "volk" being perfectible through government intervention, eugenics and ideological purity: which is textbook progressivism. It's not an accident that the chosen art-genre of the fascist movement was "Futurism": or that it was so similar to the tropes used in Communist art.
