Have German lawmakers considered addressing the reasons people are voting for the AfD? Silly question - obviously they just want to double down on open borders and de-growth.

Because the uni-party has nothing to offer ordinary people. The Germans have made it very clear they don't want open borders, they don't want their culture to vanish, and they don't want to live in poverty. That is all the uni-party is offering: and so they have to silence the opposition. They can't win the debate.
