  1.  @damianbiondo812  "Elder stateman" are a big part of the problem, it's a euphemism for old swamp creatures. The right are increasingly led by dynamic, younger people who understand the political and media landscape isn't the same as it was 20 years ago. You can't tell people bare faced lies like "crime is down", "the border is secure", or "woke isn't really a thing" - and expect to get away with it anymore just because the dying legacy media will repeat the lies for you.
