  4. They can belong to the same state but only one of them will get Florida's electoral votes. Maybe if Trump establishes residency in another state where he owns property (like New York or New Jersey) then the two will be viable candidates. I think it is unlikely that Trump would change his state of residence once again. If anything, Rubio might be handed the position of Secretary of State. Highest-ranking cabinet position will be strongly fitting for Rubio, may help if he runs in 2028, and will also allow for someone like Byron Donalds to end up as Senator upon Rubio's resignation
