@stariyczedun somehow I dont believe you are russian. I was born and lived in Ukraine and spend every summer in Crimea. Every single person I have ever spoken with in Crimea was speaking russian, could not speak ukrainian and saw rhemself as russian. The people from Crimea that I know actually were happy to be part of Russia. At least the overwhelming majority was.

 @imcbocian but they themselfs would not say they are russian. And it is not like this is exclusive for just Russia. It is like this in most countries in the world.

@pirminp7090 dude Russia did not invade Ukraine in 2014. Pls learn some facts. There was a russian naval base in Ukraine (Crimea) prior to the whole mess. There was an agreement between those two countries. I mean I am against Russia invading Ukraine in 2022, but there was no invasion in 2014.

@pirminp7090 can you not read? Those "green man" were russian navy that had every right to be there. There was a contract between Russia and Ukraine about Russia having a naval base in Crimea. What is so difficult to understand about it? Are US forces that are stationed in Germany invading Germany?

@pirminp7090 yeah, that is total bs. I know people from Crimea and they wanted to split from Ukraine. There was no pressure from russian navy, because it was not needed.

@pirminp7090 dude you do understand that 35 years ago, all those people living there were "Russians". Almost nobody was making a distinction between russians or ukrainians. The russian military in Crimea (for the most part) come from exactly those people. They have been interminglig for generations. They have houses and family there. They frigging live there. They are not some guys that came from Moscow or whatever a day before. Of course they (even those who are off duty at that moment or whatever) are not gonna sit idle by when the new government suddenly gonna discriminate against them. And yeah of course they are not gonna have any insignia, cause they were not operating as russian forces but as private citizens. Where the hell did I use any whataboutism? You are seeing things that are not there. Yes they did not influence the public. If you actually want to do some research, there are polls made by american institutes from like 2012 or so that shows who people in Crimea prefer Ukraine or Russia. They were overwhelmingly pro-russian. And like I said Iknow people from Crimea, they were always pro-russian. No, I am not russian. I never was or lived there. I am german.
