  2. That is not really true. If you ad a low cost healthinsurance covrage you get about simular healthcare as in most of europe. Education cost difrance is not really that large. Its not feally free in europe, evdn the countries that claim they are And to compare a eu collage to ivy leauge collage is really unfair. Of collage are compare like for like for teachers, engineers, and nurses the diffrance is really quote low. While a european student would end up with a lower loan, they will also end up with lowet pay and more taxes. I calculated those 3 profrssion in a median eu nation and a median us state, amd all 3 profession actually have a lower payback time in the us. And o did calculate out of state cost. Mobility is generally cheaper im the us... with the one exception of international flights that is way cheaper in europe. Like 3-4 times cheaper. Thd diffrance in safty is actually very small. There is a few plsces in usa that habe really poor safty that pulls up the avrage. Bit if you just look at a random town, the diffrance is really quite small. Cultural event have zero value. Its a wast of money. Housing realtive to pay after tax and intrest is both between 30-35% in europe and usa. The diffrance is that us houses are larger but european houses generally have better quality. The main advantage in europe is that when the house is payed of the rest value tend to be higher. For quality of food its a bit more complicated. Most food in eu have higher quality, but not all. I was kind of surpriced when a noticed a soda in sweden is more garbage than one in florida. Worth saying, they are diffrent from state to state. For bread its really quote complicated. For greens depedns on where you live on both continents. Eggs are for sure better in europe. Pork i would say its a wash, beef i would say its a bit complicated. The us cow get more food on root, while also getting more antibiotics. Something as simple as mc donalds is garbage tear in nordic, its pretty bad in the us, but ironically a bit better in souther europe. On the flip side, mcdonalds is pretty expensive food im souther europe.

  6.  @doomse150  First of all i lived in Europe most of my life. I know how good or bad the healthcare and the school can be here. "or just insane glorification of your "ivy league"" I never did that, just explained that it was not really comparable when there is actual collages with much more reasonable cost. ". Also, it seems like you have a grave misunderstanding of what cheap and easy mobility actually means" No its you who don´t understand. "US is so underdeveloped that pretty much everyone HAS to own a car if they wanna travel any considerable distance" So you are saying that if someone want to travle from NYC to LA they have to own a car... oooh right, its not really what you are saying, you just making up BS with out even thinking about it. The thing is that the diffrance between USA and EU is not as huge as people might believe. What happened is that a lot of people confuzed suburbia in the USA with suburbs in europe. The thing is, Suburbia exist in Europe as well and suburbs exist in USA. To put it into number in EU its about 50% urban, 25% suburbs about 10% suburbia about 15% rural, USA is about 37% urban, 28% suburbs about 17% suburbia and about 18% rural. Of casue population of EU is dominated by quite dense countries like Italy and France. We look at Sweden have 35% urban, 30% suburban, 15% suburbia and 20% rural. So Sweden actually have a more rural population than USA.. that kind of make sense being that the population density is slightly lower. If you live in a urban or suburban setting, transport is really not that much worse in the US, but if you live in Suburbia or rural, its really quite bad in both EU and USA. I got to walk 4 km to get to a bus stop, and i only have 8km to town. And note, i live in EU. "without mentioning any numbers is kinda telling tbh." Well it was pretty long regardless. but payback time for a median nurse in the US from a median community collage with a median salary after a median tax is 9 month, In Sweden, Denmark. Finland and Germany its between 11 and 12 month. While the lone is considerably lower in those countries, the median nurse actually earn more than twice as much in the US. median US nurse actually makes more than a median Swedish MD To be prices the Swedish MD get a salary of $58 900 after tax, and the US nurse get a salary of $59 300 after tax. (and yes, that include federal tax as well as social security and medicare tax). So that is a 3 year education contra a 9 year education. Swedish nurse .... $28 350. So less than half. This doe effect. And worth saying that community collage, while more expensive than collage say in Sweden, the diffrance is actually not that large. If you go to a ivy leage school to do nursing, engineering or teaching, you are doing it wrong. The fact is most people that complain about the high student debt in the US is people that took useless degree like arts or communications and then didn´t get a high paying job. Its also worth saying that about 65% of all academics are either engineers, teachers or medical staff. After that is business management and social science that is also often found at community collages. Of cause there is other degrees like law that may be difficult to find at community collages. But general for all normal profession its not really a problem. One might think that someone studying law or MD would have a huge benefit in Europe. But that is not really the case. The differential pay is even lower and there is a lock out system from collages in most European countries. Its also worth saying that beside the side expenses, not all Europa nations have tuition free collages. Tuition fee in say Netherlands and Italy is about in line with the typical out of state collage in the US, and in UK its a bit higher. So its not really as clear cut to say that collage is much more expensive in the US... it CAN be, but its not always

  8.  @doomse150  You don´t have a clue what you talking about. Is just some 10-15% that don´t take student loan and most of them either have rich parents that pays them or they work really hard at the side. " because it costs like 200€ per 6 months" You totally forgot that there are no dorms in europe. That kind of ads €600-700/month "And in the US you have people who rely on loan forgiveness to ever become debt free within their own lifetime" You mean people that take out twice as much loan as they need to smoke dope becasue they believe the empty promise from some party for the 20 time in a row that they should "forgive student loanes". Yea.. European students can´t fit a dope budget in there student loans. "Also, there's about five circular conclusions in your argument" No its called circular logic, and there is non of that. Do you even know what that is? call it cherypicking. I didn´t even consider instate tuition. I went for out of state median. If you go out of state you could in theory choice the lowest bidder. I didn´t mention partial or full scholarship that is not even a thing in Europe. I didn´t mention that people in Europe generally don´t choice a collage or university, but one is chosen for you. I didn´t know where i suppose to be until 2 weeks before the beginning of the semester. Had no clue where the city was had to check it up on a map. If you are in bad luck you get a really expensive city. Some cities and education is so expensive even with maximum alowed loan you need to complement with €2000 or 3000 extra on top. If i want to study in Poland i need to pay the full tuition. if you don´t make the semester with sufficient amount of credits you get kicked out. You still need to pay of your debt in full. If you get kicked out or kicked down 2 or 3 times (depending on education) you can never study anything ever again. You still need to pay your loan back. And that is not a hypothetical. I know several people that happened to. If you want to study art or communication that is very popular in the US, you will just not be alowed. The art school in my country took in 14 people a year.. in the whole country. Typically 10 to 20 000 applying each year Even something more mundane like a MD or a lawer you would get application to entrance of well over 10:1. You are not alowed to apply to a unlimited amount of universities or educations. You can only be accepted once (each year you apply). When you are choicen to go to a specific education in a specific collage or university, all other application for that year is removed. You get accepted and you realize you can´t afford it even with full loan (that is a thing that happening).. tough luck, someone else get your spot. You get accepted, but get reduced funds for the next year due to falling study results. Well you have a problem. If you complement by starting to work your result might fall even more. Also (depending on the education) if you are in a program, you can´t just jumped down forever. You have a limited amount of jump downs, then you are out, permanently. You think collage is simpler in Europe? When i started we where 84, when i finished, we where 12. About half jumped down, and half was kicked out. Quite a few jumped down twice. If you are called for military service (that may i remind you is mandatory for everyone, but currently under a selection process). If they tell you to go do military service in October or February, mid semester, you go. There is no deferring military service due to studies. None what so ever. (or you go to jail for a longer period than your service would have been and get a permanent criminal record). Back when i studied it was every man goes, now its 1/12 of every man or women, so the ods of getting drafted is a bit lower, but its actually higher than it was even at the peak of vietnam war in the US
