I've never done it, but my thumbs are both double-jointed, and I used to throw them "out of joint" when young to amuse others. It looks like you have a thumb broken at the base. Well, now I have terrible arthritis in both thumbs, and getting worse. You DON'T want to have arthritic hands... at least I think you don't.
