I've tried in vain to get editing work for about 3 decades. I have no idea how one gets such a job. I've concluded "editing" jobs are largely mythical. I think they're most often pawned off on employees who don't have enough tasks to complete, have only the most marginal idea of what the job entails, and have not presented any challenging ideas in the past in the job...
