This is NOT how it works, to the best of my knowledge. Senators and congressmen are NOT allowed to possession classified documents. They are SHOWN them during a briefing by a liaison officer of the State Department, Pentagon, intelligence agency. They may TEMPORARILY "possess" them during the briefing, but afterwards they are collected by the liaison officer. THIS LATEST BATCH WAS A PLANT by someone working for the Democrats. So says my Spidey Sense.

@comentedonakeyboard True, for the remainder of this term (November '24). I think the Democrats and Republicans are working in concert on this. For different reasons. If Kamala is removed in a similar manner, McCarthy would become president until election time. I'm thinking some Republicans have been looking for a way to present a Trump nomination, and they think they can nominate McCarthy instead, after an interim McCarthy presidency. This interim in no way counts towards the two-term limit for a president. McCarthy could be president until 2034.

@lindaostrom570 No, an interim McCarthy presidency would give HIM an inside track towards the '24 nomination, and some "anybody but Trump" Republicans are looking for a way to screw Trump out of the nomination....
