  2. "Multiple ports". Eh... it's sort of one port divided up on opposite sides of the mouth of the James River; the major one on the south side: Norfolk. The north side, Newport News/Hampton, is not much of a port facility in the normal sense. It's the shipbuilding side. And the cargo ships come to the Port of Norfolk, which is right alongside the biggest Naval base on the East Coast.
