@tomtom7955 Well, our little fetus doesn't become a fish and swim away, does it? It doesn't become a turtle and crawl away. It doesn't become a lizard, or a fox, or a giraffe, now does it? There is ONLY ONE THING it ever is: a human being.

@andrewespinoza2896 I'm technically agnostic, in that I don't think there's proof positive God exists. I'm a Buddhist who was raised in a Christian environment, and I recognize great positive value in Christianity - it's just not exactly the right thing for me. Buddhism is a-theistic only in the sense that the existence of a Creator or Grand Designer is not considered relevant to the tenets of Buddhism. Not relevant in the sense that it is technically unknowable. This requires a differentiation between belief and absolute knowledge. I can't objectively demonstrate God exists, or doesn't. It's a matter of faith, not proof. Faith has no role in Buddhism, one way or the other. It doesn't mean faith isn't real, or unreal. It just has no place.
