@oreziopancrazio3685 they are not just arbitrarily chosen. They were specifically chosen to give this effect, so they can study this effect. This is brownian motion and how chaotic or random processes function like the stock market. From what I understand if you can predict this completely you can predict the stock market amongst other chaotic processes. Maybe you could predict randomness itself. Which sounds illogical, which might be why we can't prove it.

@YourComputer bro this thing literally moves in brownian motion which is how the stock market moves. I feel like if you can predict this you can in some part predict the stock market.

@thehotcoolstuff it's not arbitrary at all, it's to make sure the events and odds line up properly. The fact that you said that just shows that u don't understand everything behind the problem so therefore shouldn't rush to conclusions.

@awightman1221 I wonder how that and other more specific questions would even be attempted to be done and if they would be as hard as this one.
