And yes, words do matter. Because yes, we use them as tools to describe reality. And the word "gender" has been "changed" because it is more useful that way and allows us to describe reality more accurately that way, and then words like "gender roles" can be derivatives of that word and describe more specific things, and it and its derivatives can describe new things that weren't previous recognized, that EXIST IN OBJECTIVE MATERIAL REALITY, as you said.
And having words for those things, that we before didn't, or had way more difficult words for, makes it easier to describe and work with and utilize these things and concepts, and you or someone else perhaps being butthurt that Tomatoes are indeed Fruits, thus even making Ketchup a Smoothie, and this russles your jimmies because it's *different now*, shouldn't get in the way of making progress in actual more important things like scientific fields of research and improving the lives of people.
