@glumdrop4672 well remember that most state races went republican and the Republicans won a lot of seats in house, democrats didn't do well in senate races. Outside of major cities progressives aren't winning fast enough. When progressives primary democrats you get a republican government. I like most of bernies ideas, but the honest truth is he can't sell those ideas to the majority of Americans since he can't connect to their way of life.

Yeah bernie being president doesn't matter if you still have only 50 senators to work with. Not the president that fully matters, also need the house and senate to have enough votes to pass legislation.

@noreply6947 its not that we need more people to understand, we need to explain it better and understand were people come from so we can message better. Polling is polling but again Republicans won a lot of local seats and democrats didn't perform well.

@glumdrop4672 it's about the votes, he doesn't have the votes in the senate, doesn't matter if bernie would be there. All biden needed is 52 democratic senators and everything would be included. But he doesn't have 52 senators, having a 50 50 split means nothing since there is always a few holdouts. This is still going to be a big win for most Americans, progressives need to realize that becuase if nothing gets passed progressives will never win since without legislation there is nothing they can run on in the future about what they can do. We done is always better than we'll said.

@glumdrop4672 I think just because we lost items from the bill doesn't mean we're losing. Progressives are a big shift and it takes time to change people's views. In another 10 years more and more progressives can win if bit by bit legislation can be passed. Also can't get stuck in the mud trying to battle Republicans, pass legislation and sell it and make sure people can see how it is helping.

@glumdrop4672 Republicans are gerrymandering becuase they will state elections. Local elections are different than national elections, for some reason local elections still run republican. Yes there are more and more progressives but that is more in urban areas, suburbs are growing at a slower rate and rural is almost nonexistent. Bernie hasn't been able to Crack the code for most rural states. Hasn't changed the message to help rural places understand where he is coming from. He doesn't ask "why don't they trust my ideas or me" The bills are great and are a sign that progressives can win more elections and gain more seats, but to do nothing will set the movement back.
