Nothing is stopping Private Oil companies from producing more, they have thousands of acres to drill on and ability to ramp up production. Also the GOP just a few weeks ago voted agaisnt permit changes.

@tom4150 The business decision to not increase drilling is valid since this is a huge investment, however, to blame regulations is just a lie since they can increase production and drill new wells. Right now oil companies are paying dividends and doing stock buybacks. Private compaines can compete to fill European energy needs but they so far have made a decision that is too risky, they just do not want to admit it.
