@kinggu9270 I've always been interested in other nationalities, and their characters so to speak. So these are my very superficial observations about Filipinos, I hope you all don't take it the wrong way; these are simple musings of an outsider based on a non-random sample
-English is kind of a status symbol, and especially having a good accent
-There is strong anti-China sentiment, but very little noticeable anti-Americanism, and no anti-Spanish or anti-Japanese (edit)
-Marcos is often invoked, so this must have been a very significant time in Philippines history. I didn't know about him so I just quickly looked up on wikipedia, and since everything in western eyes falls into either GOOD GUY or BAD GUY camp like in a super hero movie, Marcos is presented as BAD GUY. But Filipinos seem divided here, some malign him, but others speak of him with great respect
-Strong unified national pride with no noticeable divisions (for example among regional, language, ideological or religious lines as often found in other nations)
-Disappointment with the perceived failure of the nation to live up to its potential. Then again this is common, perhaps even universal among many countries that are not as wealthy as western nations

@kay-uw5lt If you watch the the videos from this series, you will note that each and every white South African is going off the exact same script. Their key points they always make sure to hit:
1652
Refreshment station
Not a Bantu in sight for 100 years
Difference of "civilization"
We spend so much money and are the caretakers of the Bantu
etc.
I don't know too much about South African history, so I view this as an outsider. It's just very striking that these kids are like records playing on repeat. To what degree are they free, to what degree are they expressing their own opinions? On a practical level, how would a young person get the means/courage/information to be able to challenge their status quo, their culture, their elders, their government...in an era where the flow of information was vastly more constrained.
I grew up in a communist country, and the propaganda was omnipresent, I mean it was in the little poems we would learn to recite in daycare. I felt my parents were "weird" sometimes when I would start reciting my commie stuff (which I was quite excited about), but they never said anything against the system, to me -their child, because it was too dangerous. One of the heroes we were taught to revere was Pavlik Morozov. His great act was that he reported his own parents to the authorities for their anti-communist activities. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@hasanbal1444 I suppose it is quite analogous to my experience as a Pole, althought I no longer live there so I can view it at arms length. Poland and Russia are so similar in language, culture, genetics, but enimity persists strong as ever, mainly directed from Poland toward Russia. Now that I think about this, I kind of understand (even if I don't condone) the Greek perspective, and perhaps you can too. Regardless of all the back and forth the nations inflicted upon each other in the past, it is much easier for the more powerful nation to say "we have no prejudice toward you, we want to have good relations, we have bigger problems..." But for the smaller nations the adversary next door will always remain an existential threat. A mouse is not going to let go of its prejudice towards the neighbourhood cat! Not to say that it's right - just to say that's how it *is*.
