I was wondering, how in the world can a small town like those be able to afford the infrastructure with their local incomes and spending. Whether it is taxes or living expenses, from 150 to 1500, you cannot afford to have that many buildings, roads, power lines, policing, schools, etc. In most other places on earth this population size would be living with dirt roads and no schools, or they would be asked by the gov to sell their lands and move closer to a larger cities to better support them.
