Mattress is mainly a marketing cost driven business, retail for trying things out is expensive, so even if you have to donate 20% of your mattresses because people didn't like them, they are still ahead of the game, until everyone is selling the same foam mattress and the prices tank so low there is no money left, then you are short of luck.

  2. The only way these DTC companies can make money is to be a Chinese factory listing on Amazon Market Place, and they probably are just trying to transfer money out of China into US legally and would be happy to not make money at all. 1B? for a foam mattress company full of marketing? Ha.
