I wouldn't blame landlord, the way they have eviction ban they would rather take lower risk and pick the perfect tenants so they don't have to deal with the possible eviction. Many landlord is only getting 3% return on investment per year these days, if everyone pays their rents. This is especially true for older mom and pop landlords with nothing to fall back on (they rely on the rental for retirement).

@blacklightredlight2945 Not all landlord makes profit, many just break even. This is why you don't see people building affordable housing much these days. I've personally seen 3 that just ended up giving up and let the home foreclosed when the tenants stopped paying rent, and the bank foreclosed and kick the tenants out eventually.

@blacklightredlight2945 Maybe you should be the landlord instead. This is why nobody is building any affordable housing, only single family homes for "sale" or big luxury apartments to rent to high income people. Nobody build those duplex or small apartments anymore because of entitled people like you. After rent control all it take is someone like you not paying rent for a few months to go negative. Maybe some genius would start turning 2 or 3 apartments into condos to sell so entitled tenants will not be renting there anymore, or convert those multiple units into one large 'house' so they are going to owner occupy instead of renting out to "maybe they'll pay this month" people.

@blacklightredlight2945 People are quitting landlording these days, haven't you heard? How many people buy a place are renting them out right away? Almost nobody (they are all owner occupied).
