  2. You would think a communist country is horrible at economy, but in reality 1 of the founding person of that government, Chen Yun, was a genius in financial warfare during their civil war. This guy would use all the old currency of the former gov to flood the enemy territory buying up all the materials, transfer it to their own territory, issue new currency in the new conquered land, to collapse the enemy finance. This is how they do most of the damage in civil war and this is how they realize to stabilize their own country, they need to keep their currency closed off to the international exchange, and relies on the black market, and smugglers, to trade with the world via Hong Kong.

  6. Ghost cities are there to print money. In the US we have an oil backed currency but due to China's lack of foreign exchange in the open market, they sort of rely on real estate for money printing.
