It is because nobody has money to spend in a slum on farmer's market stuff.

@niapaulino3310 This is normal procedure when employees have health insurance (health insurance will sue the owner) or not (the hospital will sue the owner). The owner needs to have business or workers comp insurance to cover this kind of things. Welcome to America.

They cannot, there's a cost to run a business and poor neighborhood has no money to spend on quality. You know a lot of stores subsidize on some of their stuff as loss leaders to attract customers to spend money on other stuff with profitable margins, right?

Businesses tend to avoid places with high cost (thefts, not buying high profit stuff, not having money to spend) and low profit, it is not just the Black Neighborhoods. Walmart closed their store in West Virginia too (that's a white town). Very soon in 5 years you will see why some delivery company won't deliver to certain neighborhood when their vans get robbed. These neighborhood will be full of locked drop box for these companies to drop stuff in from an armored carrier.
