This should give you some perspective for why your life is where it is.

Whether it's rent, or a mortgage payment, even if you buy a house that's completely paid off, you still have to pay for utilities, property taxes, and upkeep. This isn't fairy tale land, things cost money. Maybe YOU don't have to pay for it, but SOMEONE has to pay for it. I can't believe I even have to explain this.
