Right is right, whether the person making the statement is scientifically qualified or not.

Jimmy's channel is far bigger than Sam's.

@aheroictaxidriver3180 no, an ad hom is discrediting the source rather than the content. Doesn't matter whether it's related to the topic or not, it's generally associated with insulting someone instead of arguing against their point, but whether it's a person or a publication or anything else, discrediting it off hand without refuting any of the information is an ad hom.

You guys can't possibly think it's a good idea to pump little kids full of speed.

@soulknife20 hard to quantify it, but I don't think it would be a stretch to assert half or even more than half are falsely diagnosed. Any kid who gets bored in school can be prescribed. I dunno about you, but I would be more concerned if my 10 year old son doesn't get bored in history class than if he did.

@soulknife20 kids aren't dumb, they're just kids. It blows my mind how few people have made this connection, human nature hasn't changed much over the years, but human behavior in the US has changed dramatically in the last few decades, the same decades that we started mass medicating kids. There's 2 dots on an otherwise blank sheet of paper, and people can't seem to connect them.

@bertthompson4748 yea the issue is that not everyone that's prescribed to it actually has ADHD. Tell me how many mass shooters we had prior to the 90s? And you can't blame it on the guns, we've always had guns. Hell we have far more restrictive gun laws now than we did then. Other countries have guns too. They don't have mass shootings like the US does.

@aheroictaxidriver3180 and you don't know who your dad is.

@tschorsch they're both more right than the people that think it's ok to pump generations of kids full of speed just because they get bored when things are boring, or give teenagers anti depressants because they're moody sometimes. They're both taking it too far to the extreme by acting like these conditions don't exist at all, but you're a damn fool if you can't see that they're severely over diagnosed, and all of this is one of the leading causes to all of the problems plaguing the US right now.
