These are 2 completely different topics, because guns can be used defensively, and are, far more often than aggressively. There's actual data that tracks this. You can't do drugs to get people to do less drugs. It doesn't work that way. And I'm for legalizing weed, or at least decriminalizing it. But trying to draw a comparison is stupid as hell at best, willfully dishonest at worst.

Because red flag laws can be very subjective and are extremely vulnerable to corruption. What's stopping a state from flagging someone just for having opinions they don't like? Same as we see the left abuse power on social media.

We don't have a gun problem, we have a crazy problem. 75% of the world's pharmacuedicals are consumed by Americans, more than half of adult Americans have taken a prescription drug in the last month. We've had guns for centuries and these kind of events only start happening in the last several decades, around the same time we started throwing pills at every problem. Connect the dots. There's only two of them, on an otherwise blank sheet of paper. It's not hard.
