Oh no, Libertarian propaganda??? Encouraging people to be responsible and self sufficient??? The horror!!!!🤣🤣

@MrWyzdum That's the long and short of it. Liberty means self sufficiency, leftism means collectivization and authoritarianism. Obviously there's more to it than that, but if you reduce it it's bare bones, that's the fundamental difference between the right and the left.

@nevermorebouquet3681 self sufficiency doesn't mean nobody ever helps you with anything, it means you don't have to force anyone to help you. It's called mutual cooperation. If you weren't such a terrible person, there would be people in your life willing to help you voluntarily. There are plenty in my life.

@brianmccollaum5489 sounds more like you're describing socialism, except your "in group" is lazy people who don't want to work, and feel entitled to the wealth and labor of people who are more successful than them. Libertarians don't want anyone from anyone, they just want to live their lives and let you live yours. If your own life is harmful to you, that's a you problem.

@xEnder515 I don't have to force anyone to help me. People want to help me, and I want to help them, because I'm a normal person. I don't need the barrel of a government gun to make me act right.

@xEnder515 sure, that part is mutual. Government exists for a reason, we have to have a common currency.

@JackOllie4 what happens if you don't pay your taxes?

@brianmccollaum5489 libertarians aren't against cooperation, most of them are actually very much for it. They're just against being forced to "cooperate" by the government stealing your money to spend it as they please. They think we're better at spending our own money in our own communities rather than some suit a thousand miles away that doesn't give a damn about you or your community. A couple of guys from the neighborhood could fix that pothole in a couple of hours, and they would do it right, because they drive on that street, and they have a vested interest in it being done right, and most of their neighbors would gladly chip in for the costs, because they also drive on that street.

@brianmccollaum5489 there could still be a base level tax. Libertarian doesn't necessarily mean no taxes whatsoever, a lot of libertarians are of that mindset, but not everyone. An extremely small, flat federal income tax would be more than enough to pay for roads, schools, and first responders, the bare necessities.

@brianmccollaum5489 it's stealing if the government is taking it to pay for things nobody signed up for. Isn't that what all you lefty numbnuts think about all the money we spend on the military? That's one thing most normal people actually agree about. If the people agree to basic taxes for something all of us need, that's not theft, that's reasonable collectivization. And the overwhelming majority of the people are fine with taxes paying for roads and education. We're just not ok with it lining the pockets of career politicians.

@DMKRP be a decent person, and there will be plenty of people in your life to take care of you and help you out. If not, especially if you're old, then you were probably a piece of shit for most of your life. That's not someone else's fault, or responsibility.
