The fact that so many people are in crippling debt because of college proves that you're wrong, if college was working, people would be able to pay off their debt with relative ease. Instead we see the opposite, college produces coddled, emotionally stunted adult sized babies that have absolutely no clue how to get by in the real world. You could make a better argument that people are better off not going to college.

Could also be because the left is bat shit insane, and normal people don't like being told everything is racist by people who are clearly and openly racist.

@tenkenroo but there's a difference between being educated and being well educated.

@jimbob3030 that's nonsense, if college was working they would be able to find high paying jobs with relative ease, isn't that a large part of the point of college? It's the entire point for a lot of people. Making it "free" wouldn't change the quality of the education, it would probably make it even worse. And it's not "free" anyway, it would just come out of the pocket of tax payers. Which you probably think would just be those naughty rich people you hate, but it never works that way, "tax the rich" always ends up rolling downhill to working class people. Always. We need to find solutions to why so many people are having trouble using their degrees before we talk about waving an imaginary magic wand to make it free.

@williamjameslehy1341 but the net student loan debt exceeds the rate of higher income from college grads compared to their "uneducated" counterparts as you so eloquently put in your elitist terms.

@BH-fi1sb they're college grads. They should be able to find a job without it being handed to them. Otherwise they wasted a shitload of money on college. That's not capitalism's fault, that's poor decision making.
1
@BH-fi1sb of course. You're aware that the number of "jobs" isn't stagnant, right? Job opportunities can be created, by entrepreneurs. Which is one thing college is supposed to be teaching people. But it's fine, they learned how to be communist apologists and get offended by everything that's ever existed. I'm sure that'll pay off their debts some day.

@greycoloris7665 you act like college is the only possible way to learn things.

@Mr Veep all the constant identity politics bullshit doesn't help either. Normal people will go along to get along, plus most people are scared of being labeled as racist, but when it comes down to it most people are sick and tired of everything being about race and other inherent characteristics.
