@flintston3r if you just believe in Christ as a fall back to avoid hell "just in case", then you don't really believe in Christ. At least not according to Christian doctrine as far as I understand it. God knows your heart and all that.

@abelcainsbrother that's not what I was saying at all though, you can say you believe in Jesus, sure, but according to Christian doctrine, it doesn't count unless you truly believe. And if you just believe because you don't want to go to hell, then you don't really believe. And if you only believe because you don't go want to go to hell, and it actually works and you don't go to hell, then christian doctrine is wrong, and Pascal's wager is null and void.

@abelcainsbrother I don't really understand what you don't understand about this, we're kind of saying the same thing but you're saying it more stupid and acting like you're disagreeing with me.

@dwreal the way I've always figured, it's most likely the same as before you were born. Nothing happened. You didn't exist. Stuff happened, for billions of years, but from your perspective, nothing happened. I don't see any reason it would be different for the billions of years after you die.

I think it would be awesome to be reincarnated as a dog, I was playing with a dog with a hose yesterday and she was freaking out, she loves that hose so much it's the greatest thing in the world to her. I was thinking damnit man, I don't love anything as much as this dog loves playing with the hose, that's just pure joy and fun on a level most adult humans can barely even comprehend. That wouldn't be such a bad fate. Of course I'm a filthy heathen, so it's more likely I'll be reincarnated as a fly that lives for a few days and eats shit.
