@Ddeamorin nobody is informed from watching one source, but republican voters and independents on average watch more sources and are more informed on issues than democrat voters. But that's not saying much, because squirrels are also more politically informed than democrat voters.

I just stopped drinking energy drinks and mostly cut out sodas about 6 months ago, and I've lost about 20 lbs, overall just much healthier and feel better. And I wasn't huge either, just had a Hank Hill beer gut.

Most Americans could do with eating less meat though. And I'm not coming at this from any hippie dippy muh climate change, or animals rights angle like that, just purely health. And I'm guilty of it myself, because meat is just so damn good. But a little more poultry and a little less meat in general would benefit the average American's diet.

@5starview I know poultry is meat, I'm just saying that excess red meat and excess meat in general is a common problem. If you replace a few burgers with chicken or turkey instead, and a few meals with no meat, it would benefit a lot of people. I guess my phrasing was a little wonky.

@Ddeamorin the state of western media is really a mess, it's sad and sinister how it's become such a chore to stay informed. And it's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that just because left wing media is basically always wrong, and always lying, that means right wing media is correct and truthful. But that's not true either, even sources that are generally honest can still get things wrong. Staying on top of things has become a part time job, it's ridiculous. The best way forward is just to know that you're not too smart to be fooled, that you have been tricked by fake news before and you will again, you just have to look at as many angles as you can and try to reverse engineer the truth, and be willing to backpedal a bit if something you thought was true ends up being BS. That's why leftists are always wrong though, they don't have that level of humility. That act like their head will fall off and they'll burst into flames if they ever admit they were wrong, or they believed bullshit. So instead they double down on the bullshit even after they know it's bullshit, and subscribe to a new set of bullshit to justify the old bullshit they still can't admit was bullshit

@Ddeamorin same here. Apologies if I was a little hostile in my first reply too, I guess I jumped the gun, I read your first post as more antagonistic than it actually was. Fox news does suck though, it's obviously better than CNN or MSNBC, but it's still watered down and on the side of the war machine. Independent media is really the only place to get real news. And as I stated before, you still gotta be careful with that.

@martymcfly88mph35 yea we straw man the left's positions because it's funny, and absurdity for humor is almost the same as what they actually believe, sometimes what they believe is even more absurd than absurdity for humor. Look at how often The Babylon Bee accidentally predicts the future. And the left straw man's the rights positions because they genuinely think that's what the right believes, no matter how often people from the right tell them what we actually believe.

@Ddeamorin things are really fucking polarized right now, it's fucking crazy. And the left is mostly to blame, a lot of the right wing partisans are just as a response to how insufferable the left has been for the last decade plus. But that doesn't mean it's right for the partisans on the right to act like they do. You can still maintain a sense of neutrality without compromising on your positions or beliefs.
